oh... remember with me wont ya... december 96... having put at least 16 months of effort into the previous 12 months, megan and i decide to take off a month for our first big date! ya see, when we first met 13 months before that, i was planning a trip to india and nepal with roy. he had an ICOMOS fellowship for september through november, and i would meet him in india at the end of his time to go for a short walk. megan had just returned from a year in taipei when we met, so i asked her along. well, the fellowship was postponed a year, megan and i moved in together a few months later and tsP! worked like their life was only the way way new media.

so thanksgiving 96, after being bumped from our 645am flight, we left austin in our complimentary first-class recliners on a Continental flight to that rusty ship capital of the northeast known to the locals as newark, NJ. then onto a perhaps half-filled Lufthansa flight to frankfurt, germany, where with every meal the butter comes not in "pats" but in wallops. a few hours after landing we meet good friend, former roommate and current san francisco resident, troy koshanipour in the concourse where we have set up temporary residence on what is probably the best public seating in the world. that afternoon, despite what looks to an austin-ite like an improbable amount of snow, the three of us are joined by about 500 close friends in another Lufthansa super-sized jet for an overnight flight to the deeply surreal 3 AM new delhi airport.

here s a quick breakdown of what we did in that month, as backed up by photographic evidence. of course, the best pictures are slides which have not yet been scanned, but will, eventually, make their appearance within these pages.
